Estimates, not payroll

Beatwise works out estimates to help you plan. They're based on published tax rates, pension rules and pay scales, but your actual pay depends on your force's payroll, your tax code and things we can't see. Always check your payslip, and speak to your payroll team or staff association about anything that matters.

Nothing on Beatwise is financial, tax or legal advice.

Pay scales and accuracy

We keep the figures up to date and show where they come from. Where official figures haven't been published yet, such as the England and Wales pay points from 1 September 2026, we say so and explain how our figures are worked out.

Independent

Beatwise isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, any police force, the Police Federation of England and Wales, the Scottish Police Federation, the Police Federation for Northern Ireland or the Home Office.

Using the site

Please don't misuse Beatwise, for example by trying to break it, overload it or copy it at scale. The free calculator is provided as it is. We're not responsible for decisions made using its estimates, except where the law says we can't exclude responsibility. Nothing here affects your legal rights.
