Who we are
About Beatwise
Beatwise shows UK police officers and PCSOs what they'll actually be paid. There's a free take-home pay calculator and pay scales for every rank, and a shift log that adds overtime to each month's estimate.
Who runs it
Beatwise is run by Liam Gallagher, a sole trader in the UK.
124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NXbeatwise@zohomailcloud.co.uk
Independent of forces and the Federation
Beatwise isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, any police force, the Police Federation of England and Wales, the Scottish Police Federation, the Police Federation for Northern Ireland or the Home Office. Nothing you log is sent to your force, and we can't see your force's payroll.
How it's paid for
- The calculator and the pay scale pages are free, with no account needed.
- The shift log and monthly estimates are a subscription, at £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year. That pays for the site.
- There are no adverts, no paid partnerships and no affiliate links, and we don't sell or share your data.
How the figures are worked out
Every figure comes from a published source: the Police Regulations, Home Office pay determinations, Police Scotland and PSNI pay scales, and HMRC rates. Where an award has been announced but the official pay tables haven't been published yet, we say so on the page and explain how the figure was worked out. How we calculate
Found a mistake?
Email beatwise@zohomailcloud.co.uk with the page, what you entered and what you expected, such as the figure on your payslip. We check it against the source and fix confirmed mistakes as quickly as we can.
Every change to a pay scale or a rule, and every correction, is listed with its date on Updates and corrections.
