About
Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use Beatwise, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control or magnification. This statement covers beatwise.co.uk, including the calculator, pay pages, shift log and account pages.
The standard we aim for
Beatwise aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard used by GOV.UK.
What you can do
- Use every page and form with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing on each page.
- Zoom in or make text larger. Pages reflow to fit narrow screens without scrolling sideways.
- Use your device's high contrast or forced colours mode. Charts keep their outlines, and every chart has a table with the same figures.
- Turn on “reduce motion” on your device, and Beatwise stops animating numbers and transitions.
- Find form errors quickly: each form lists its problems at the top, links to each one, and repeats the message next to the field.
How we test
We check every page type with axe, an automated accessibility checker, at phone and desktop sizes before changes go live. We also check pages by keyboard, and that forms move focus to errors and to each new step.
What isn't perfect yet
- We haven't yet tested Beatwise with screen readers on real phones and computers (such as VoiceOver, TalkBack and NVDA). Automated checks catch a lot, but not everything.
- Paying for a subscription happens on a page run by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe is responsible for that page's accessibility.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Beatwise is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email beatwise@zohomailcloud.co.uk. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll reply as soon as we can, usually within a few working days.
If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
